Counting Coins
  1. 25, 35, 45, 46, 47 → 47¢
  2. For example: 1 quarter, 1 dime, 2 pennies; or 3 dimes, 1 nickel, 2 pennies; or 7 nickels, 2 pennies.
  3. 3 dimes: 3 dimes are 30¢, and 1 quarter is 25¢.

Quick read: an answer of 5 on #1 means the student counted coins, not cents. Practice with Penny Prospect, saying the running total out loud.
