Overview

This site offers free browser-based math games for students and classrooms. This page explains what information is - and isn't - collected when you visit or play.

We do not collect personal information

This site has no accounts, no sign-ups, no logins, and no forms. The games do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal information, and none is stored by this site. The outside services this site uses are described below.

Game progress is saved only on your device

Some games remember things like your best score, level, coins, or settings so you can pick up where you left off. This information is saved only in your own browser's local storage on the device you are using. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, it is not linked to your name or any account, and it cannot be used to identify you. Each game has a "Reset Progress" button that erases its saved data, and clearing your browser's site data erases everything. Because this information stays on your device, it is not "personal information" collected by this site.

Hosting

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. The studentmathgames.com domain is registered through Cloudflare, which only directs visitors to GitHub Pages and does not handle the pages themselves. Like most web hosts, GitHub Pages may process standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) as part of normal web server operation. This is not used by this site to identify individual visitors. See GitHub's Privacy Statement for details.

Visitor statistics

To see which games are used, this site counts page visits with GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly statistics service. GoatCounter does not use cookies, does not track visitors across other websites, and does not collect personal information. It records only general information such as which page was viewed, the referring website, the browser and screen size, and the country. These are combined into simple totals and cannot be used to identify you. See GoatCounter's privacy policy.

Advertising

To help keep the games free, this site may show ads provided by Google AdSense. Because the site is used by children, it is tagged with Google as directed to children under COPPA. This means:

Google may still use cookies or similar technology for limited purposes such as showing ads, limiting how often an ad repeats, measuring ad performance, and preventing fraud and abuse. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent message and can choose to consent, not consent, or manage their choices. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy.

Fonts and game files from other services

Some pages load fonts from Google Fonts and some games load programming libraries from cdnjs (a Cloudflare service). When your browser downloads these files, those services receive standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type, as they would for any website. This site does not receive or store that information. See Google Fonts privacy and Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

This site is directed, in part, to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. In line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), it has no accounts, no sign-ups and no forms. Any ads are non-personalized, as described under Advertising above, and the visitor statistics collect no personal information.

No data to request or delete

Because this site does not collect or store personal information directly, there is generally nothing held about an individual visitor to access, correct, or delete. If you have a question or concern about this - as a parent, guardian, or educator - please contact us using the information below.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time as the site changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
